TRAVAIL - Belgian Sour Ale - 500ml
A unique Trappist-style beer modeled after the classic Orval brewed at the Trappist brewery located within the walls of the Abbaye Notre-Dame d'Orval in the Gaume region of Belgium. This cask-aged Belgian Pale Ale is finished in a wine cask that held Chenin Blanc for nine years at Carlson Creek Vineyards in Wilcox, AZ prior to our re-purposing it. The Belgian Abbey yeast is supplemented with the wild yeast strain, Brettanomyces Bruxellensis, which develops the distinctive sour finish over the eighteen months of aging. Brilliantly clear and tawny in color with a full head of foam. Nose has a delicate touch of funk and oak that continues into the taste. Lighter bodied with a satisfying lingering finish. Pairs well with fish, rustic broths and delicate cheeses.

Hops: Hallertauer, Styrian Goldings
